Preston Buehrer, PE

Preston is Toole Design’s Engineering Director for the Boston office. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts and New York and delivers projects throughout the Northeast and Midwest, including work for municipal and state agencies. As an expert at designing for vulnerable road users, Preston’s experience spans a range of implementation programs from quick-build to full depth roadway reconstruction, with the goal of increasing safety and connectivity through projects at all scales. His work emphasizes the importance of creating public spaces that allow people to move safely and intuitively while also welcoming people to linger and become part of a community.

As a resident of Boston for over 15 years, Preston appreciates the value of both working and living in complex, urban environments. He leads a team similarly impassioned, talented, and local engineers. Outside of work, Preston can often be found on one of his many bikes: racing, grabbing groceries, or exploring the quieter parts of New England.
